Upcoming construction works at Chartered Accountants’ Hall

Published: 29 May 2025 Update History

From 11 June 2025 through to late autumn 2025, essential construction work will be taking place at Chartered Accountants’ Hall, affecting the Business Centre and Library.

What's happening

The work forms part of a critical infrastructure upgrade to install a new electrical substation, as the building is nearing its electrical capacity. Once the substation is complete, the existing gas boilers will be removed and replaced with electric boilers – an important step in our commitment to achieving carbon net zero.

We are also conducting conservation work on intricate parts of the building’s façade, stonework and interior staircase. This additional work is expected to be completed in spring 2026.

What to expect

Construction work beneath the Library and Business Centre is expected to be noisy. There may be times when it is difficult to work in the area.

Scaffolding will be in place over the summer for the work on the building’s façade. This will reduce natural daylight in some areas. Measures are being considered to maintain privacy and reduce visual impact, particularly in meeting rooms.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we carry out these essential improvements.
